Hello Legacy Parents –
As we end this first week of remote learning and move into the next, I want to thank you – I couldn’t be prouder of the partnership between our teachers and parents! What is occurring to help keep Harbor learning happening remotely is amazing. Everyone’s efforts are appreciated.
Here are a few reminders as we go into week two:
n We have carefully sterilized the school and packed up students’ desks, placing their personal items in individual bags, along with other items they will need going forward. (School employees have worn masks and gloves, and followed other health protocols in order to do this work safely.) Beginning Monday, April 20, from 8 a.m. to Noon, parents may pick up their students’ bags by driving up to the front of the school where an employee runner will retrieve them from inside the school building and bring to your car. Thank you for following these strict guidelines of no entry into the school. Our purpose in doing so is to ensure everyone’s health and safety while keeping the school clean and sanitized.
n If your child’s teacher has communicated with you that he or she will have learning packets to pick up at the school, those packets will continue to be distributed outside of the school building with the help of a school aide. Therefore, you will not enter the school building to receive your child’s packet.
n The free meal pick up for students and siblings, ages 1-18, has been great! Keep coming by to pick up their breakfasts & lunches and to say ‘hi. We appreciate being able to stay connected in this way with parents and students. The pick-up time for meals is 10:30 am to Noon, Monday-Friday. Again, please stay in your car (and please have children remain in your car as well). We will bring the meals to you. Students and siblings do not have to be with you in order to pick up their meals. The meals are to be taken and not consumed on site. If students have your permission, they can walk, or ride their bikes, scooters, or skateboards to school to pick up meals.
We wish that the school was full of students and teachers going about their normal routine. But until that time returns, we will embrace this altered learning approach and make it the best it can be for students.

Hola padres heredados -
Al finalizar esta primera semana de aprendizaje remoto y pasar a la siguiente, quiero agradecerles: ¡no podría estar más orgulloso de la asociación entre nuestros maestros y padres! Lo que está ocurriendo para ayudar a mantener el aprendizaje de Harbor sucediendo de forma remota es increíble. Los esfuerzos de todos son apreciados.
Aquí hay algunos recordatorios a medida que avanzamos en la segunda semana:
n Hemos esterilizado cuidadosamente la escuela y empacado los escritorios de los estudiantes, colocando sus artículos personales en bolsas individuales, junto con otros artículos que necesitarán en el futuro. (Los empleados de la escuela usaron máscaras y guantes, y siguieron otros protocolos de salud para hacer este trabajo de manera segura.) A partir del lunes 20 de abril, de 8 am a mediodía, los padres pueden recoger las maletas de sus estudiantes conduciendo hasta el frente de la escuela donde un corredor empleado los recuperará del interior del edificio escolar y los llevará a su automóvil. Gracias por seguir estas estrictas pautas de no ingresar a la escuela. Nuestro propósito al hacerlo es garantizar la salud y la seguridad de todos al tiempo que mantenemos la escuela limpia y desinfectada.
n Si el maestro de su hijo se ha comunicado con usted que tendrá paquetes de aprendizaje para recoger en la escuela, esos paquetes continuarán siendo distribuidos fuera del edificio escolar con la ayuda de un ayudante escolar. Por lo tanto, no ingresará al edificio de la escuela para recibir el paquete de su hijo.
n ¡La comida gratis recogida para estudiantes y hermanos, de 1 a 18 años, ha sido genial! Sigue viniendo para recoger sus desayunos y almuerzos y para decir hola. Apreciamos poder estar conectados de esta manera con padres y estudiantes. El horario de recogida para las comidas es de 10:30 a.m. a mediodía, de lunes a viernes. Nuevamente, quédese en su automóvil (y haga que los niños también permanezcan en su automóvil). Le traeremos las comidas. Los estudiantes y hermanos no tienen que estar con usted para recoger sus comidas. Las comidas deben tomarse y no consumirse en el sitio. Si los estudiantes tienen su permiso, pueden caminar o andar en bicicleta, patineta o patineta a la escuela para recoger las comidas.
Deseamos que la escuela esté llena de estudiantes y maestros que siguen su rutina normal. Pero hasta que regrese ese tiempo, adoptaremos este enfoque de aprendizaje alterado y lo haremos lo mejor posible para los estudiantes.
