SCHOOL UPDATES

Hello Legacy Parents –
As we begin this first week in our distance learning format, there are a few items in which we need to be mindful to ensure the health and safety of our school community:
n If your child’s teacher has communicated with you that he or she will have learning packets for you to pick up at the school, please note that the packets will be distributed to you outside of the school building with the help of a school aide. Therefore, you will not enter the school building to receive your child’s packet.
n The same will occur for picking up student and sibling free breakfast and lunch combo, take-with-you meals. The pick-up time for the meals is 10:30 am to Noon, Monday-Friday. Please stay in your car (and please ensure any children with you remain in your car as well). When you are greeted by a school employee or principal, let them know the number of meals you need for your student(s) and siblings, ages 1-18, and he or she will retrieve them for you. (There might be a line, so please be patient with the school employee as she or he works to take care of each and every one of you.)
Following the above items will keep physical contact with each other to a minimum and within the parameters of Idaho’s Stay-Home Order, especially ensuring no one enters the school building unless approved to do so.
Please know, too, that during this first week back we will carefully sterilize the school and pack up your student’s desk, placing their personal items in individual bags, along with other items they will need for week two and beyond. (School employees will wear masks and gloves to do this work.) Beginning Monday, April 20, from 8 a.m. to Noon, parents may pick up their student’s bag by driving up to the front of the school with an employee runner then retrieving your student’s bag from the school building and bringing it to your car.
Thank you for understanding the need to follow these strict guidelines of no entry into the school during this unprecedented time. Our purpose in doing so is to ensure everyone’s health and safety while also ensuring our school is clean, safe, and ready to go for when (hopefully) the Stay-Home Order is lifted.
There is nothing my teachers and I want more than to be in the classrooms with your students. It has been especially hard for us to accept that this won’t be the case come tomorrow. However, if we are diligent in following the items above, adhering to the State’s Stay-Home Order, and doing our best to provide your students with a positive, distance-learning experience we hope we’ll be together again sooner rather than later.

Al comenzar esta primera semana en nuestro formato de aprendizaje a distancia, hay algunos elementos en los que debemos estar atentos para garantizar la salud y la seguridad de nuestra comunidad escolar:
n Si el maestro de su hijo se ha comunicado con usted que tendrá paquetes de aprendizaje para que recoja en la escuela, tenga en cuenta que los paquetes se le distribuirán fuera del edificio escolar con la ayuda de un ayudante escolar. Por lo tanto, no ingresará al edificio de la escuela para recibir el paquete de su hijo.
n Lo mismo ocurrirá al recoger a los estudiantes y hermanos, desayuno y almuerzo combinados, comidas para llevar con usted. El horario de recogida para las comidas es de 10:30 a.m. a mediodía, de lunes a viernes. Por favor, quédese en su automóvil (y asegúrese de que los niños con usted permanezcan también en su automóvil).
