We’ve been receiving calls from many of you asking what our plans will be for school come fall. Please know we have every intention to return to our normal classroom setting beginning the first day of school on Monday, August 10.  As we review updated CDC figures showing those who are most affected by COVID-19, it continues to show older people (i.e., those over 60); and those with underlying medical conditions (such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, chronic respiratory disease, and cancer) as being most at-risk. If these figures remain constant, and the CDC, Southwest District Health, and the State Department of Education keep the current guidelines and requirements in place for schools, we are confident we will be able to provide a safe and healthy school building environment for students, teachers, and staff to return to in August. As a result, we’re already looking forward to our first day of school, and we haven’t even begun summer! We will keep you posted as we get closer to August 10 in case we are required to deviate from this plan, or if we will be required to have any special protocols in place in order to return to school in our building. Until then, let’s finish this year strong while gearing up for a much-deserved summer!
